Launching SAFeNet: a new INPLANTOMICS network for sustainable agriculture in Tunisia

Prof.  Amine Elleuch presented the INPLANTOMICS project at the “Mahrajen Bathretna” event held at the National School of Engineers of Sfax on 22–23 October 2025, showcasing how plant omics can support more resilient and sustainable cropping systems in Tunisia.

On this occasion, he also announced the launch of SAFeNet, a new collaborative network that brings together researchers, agricultural stakeholders and farmers to build a long‑term framework for innovation in the agri‑food sector. SAFeNet aims to enhance crop resilience, promote innovative and climate‑smart farming practices, and support a more sustainable and competitive agricultural sector in Tunisia by strengthening links between science, the field and decision‑makers.
