We are delighted to share the sixth and final edition of the INPLANTOMICS Newsletter, marking the successful completion of the project under the Horizon Europe Widening Programme.
Over the past years, INPLANTOMICS has contributed to strengthening research excellence in plant sciences through advanced training, knowledge transfer, international mobility, and the implementation of cutting-edge omics technologies.
🌱 Highlights from this issue include:
🔹 The INPLANTOMICS Final Meeting hosted by the University of Sfax, bringing together more than 150 participants from academia, research institutions, and policymaking bodies.
🔹 A scientific conference on CRISPR-Cas-based genome editing technologies for crop improvement, featuring leading experts from European research institutions.
🔹 A hands-on workshop on Protoplast Biotechnology, providing young researchers with practical skills for genome-editing applications.
🔹 International internships at renowned institutions including HMGU, IPK Gatersleben, ALSIA Metapontum Agrobios, and the University of Pavia, strengthening expertise in plant omics, genome editing, seed quality, and high-throughput phenotyping.
🔹 Active participation in outreach and networking events, including the Agrinnov Forum for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture and the Open Day “Build Your Future”.
As we conclude this inspiring project, we celebrate not only the scientific achievements but also the strong partnerships, research capacities, and international networks that will continue to support innovation in sustainable agriculture.
👏 A heartfelt thank you to all partners, researchers, students, stakeholders, and collaborators who contributed to the success of INPLANTOMICS.
Together, we have built a strong foundation for advancing plant science, crop resilience, and sustainable agricultural development in the Mediterranean region and beyond.
